Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened and caramelized, about 20-25 minutes.
Unroll pie crust and place in a tart pan. Trim and crimp edges.
Spread caramelized onions evenly over the crust.
In a bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper.
Pour egg mixture over onions. Sprinkle with Gruyere cheese.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and filling is set.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature. Pairs well with a green salad.
