French Onion Potato Bake

A delightful casserole with layers of caramelized onions, potatoes, and a creamy cheese sauce.

  • 2.5 pounds potatoes thinly sliced
  • 2 cups grated cheese cheddar or gruyère
  • 1 cup cream heavy cream
  • 3 onions thinly sliced

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Caramelize onions in a pan over medium heat until golden brown.
  • Layer half of the potatoes in a baking dish, top with half the caramelized onions and grated cheese.
  • Repeat the layers, pour cream over the top.
  • Bake for 60 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.

Notes

This dish pairs wonderfully with a crisp green salad.
