Festive Moroccan Spiced Coffee: The Perfect Holiday Brew

This festive Moroccan-inspired coffee drink combines the rich flavors of rum and coffee with warm spices, making it the perfect cozy beverage for holiday celebrations!

  • 2 oz dark rum such as Cruzan 151 Rum
  • 4 oz Irish cream liqueur such as Bailey's
  • 2 oz peppermint schnapps such as Rumple Minze
  • 1 oz coffee liqueur such as Kahlua
  • 12 oz brewed dark coffee hot and freshly brewed
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons colored sugar for rimming the glass
  • 0.5 cup whipped cream freshly prepared

Preparation Steps

  • Rim two 10-12 oz mugs with colored sugar by moistening the rim and dipping it into the sugar.
  • Divide the dark rum between the two mugs. Carefully light the rum with a long match or lighter to caramelize some sugars. Add a sprinkle of nutmeg to each.
  • Blow out the flame after about 20 seconds.
  • Pour the hot brewed coffee into each mug, followed by the Irish cream liqueur, coffee liqueur, and peppermint schnapps.
  • Ensure the drink is warm enough; microwave for 20-30 seconds if needed.
  • Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon and remaining nutmeg.
