Easy Ground Turkey Meatloaf

A simple and healthy ground turkey meatloaf recipe that's moist, flavorful, and perfect for a weeknight dinner. Made with pantry staples and baked to perfection.

  • 1 pound ground turkey (93% lean)
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs (plain or whole wheat)
  • 0.25 cup milk (or unsweetened almond milk)
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 cup finely chopped onion
  • 0.25 cup finely chopped celery
  • 0.25 cup finely chopped bell pepper (any color)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, combine breadcrumbs and milk. Let sit for 5 minutes to soften.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, soaked breadcrumbs, egg, onion, celery, bell pepper, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, pepper, ketchup, and Dijon mustard. Mix gently with your hands or a spoon until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan and shape into a loaf. Smooth the top.
  • In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons ketchup with 1 teaspoon water. Spread evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  • Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) when tested with a meat thermometer.
  • Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a sweeter glaze, substitute the ketchup topping with a mixture of ketchup, brown sugar, and a dash of apple cider vinegar.
