Easy Air Fryer Chicken Wings for Beginners
Crispy, juicy chicken wings are an ideal first air-fryer recipe: simple seasoning, a short cook, and no deep-frying.
Prep
: 10
Total
: 25 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken wings split at the joints and pat very dry
- 1 tablespoon baking powder aluminum-free
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 cup hot sauce optional for serving
Instructions
Pat the wings completely dry with paper towels. Dry skin browns more effectively and helps the seasoning cling.
Whisk the baking powder, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Toss the wings with olive oil, then coat evenly with the seasoning.
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 3 minutes. Arrange the wings in one layer with a little space between pieces.
Cook for 12 minutes, turn the wings, and cook for 10 to 12 minutes more, until deeply golden and the thickest pieces reach 165°F.
Rest the wings for 3 minutes. Serve plain or toss with hot sauce just before serving.
