Preparation Steps
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large oven-safe pot, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
Add the drained pinto beans, Dr. Pepper, brown sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard powder to the pot. Stir to combine.
Stir in the cooked bacon, then place the pot in the preheated oven.
Bake for 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or diced jalapeños.
