Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
Combine the flour and baking soda; gradually stir into the creamed mixture.
Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.
Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a minute before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For a nutty twist, add 1 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans to the dough.
