Double Chocolate Banana Bread

  • 1.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 cup mashed bananas ripe
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat together the sugar and eggs until pale and fluffy. Add the bananas, oil, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For a nutty twist, add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts to the batter before baking.
