Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, beat together the sugar and eggs until pale and fluffy. Add the bananas, oil, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
For a nutty twist, add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts to the batter before baking.
