Decadent Hazelnut Chocolate Layer Bars

These Hazelnut Chocolate Layer Bars are a delicious blend of creamy chocolate and crunchy hazelnuts, perfect for any occasion.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1 cup sugar granulated
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1.5 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup hazelnuts chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  • In a mixing bowl, blend flour, sugar, butter, and salt until crumbly.
  • Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven.
  • In a saucepan, melt chocolate chips with the sweetened condensed milk over low heat, stirring until smooth.
  • Stir in vanilla extract and hazelnuts.
  • Spread the chocolate mixture evenly over the baked crust.
  • Return to the oven and bake for another 20 minutes.
  • Let cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

For a nut-free option, substitute hazelnuts with an equal measure of sunflower seeds.
