Delicious and creamy cream cheese wontons, perfect as an appetizer or snack. These bite-sized parcels are crispy on the outside and rich on the inside.
In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.
Lay out a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Place about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture in the center of the wrapper.
Dampen the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold it into a triangle, pressing firmly to seal. Pinch the corners together to form a crescent shape, ensuring the filling is completely enclosed.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or wok over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C). Carefully add a few wontons at a time and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2–3 minutes per batch.
Remove fried wontons with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet and sour or soy-based dipping sauce.
Notes
Serve immediately while hot and crispy for best results.
