Copycat Pf Changs Lettuce Wraps

A delicious and easy-to-make version of P.F. Chang's famous lettuce wraps, featuring a savory ground pork and vegetable filling seasoned with soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and hoisin sauce.

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 0.5 cup diced onion
  • 0.5 cup diced water chestnuts
  • 0.25 cup diced mushrooms optional
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger grated
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 head butter lettuce or romaine lettuce leaves separated

Preparation Steps

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground pork and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes.
  • Add the onion, water chestnuts, mushrooms (if using), garlic, and ginger to the skillet. Cook for another 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are softened.
  • Stir in the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and sugar. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 1–2 more minutes until everything is well combined and heated through.
  • Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly before serving.
  • Serve the filling in crisp lettuce cups, optionally over a bed of cooked rice or noodles.

Notes

For best results, use fresh ingredients and serve immediately while warm.
