Classic Holiday Stuffing with Rustic Bread and Herbs
This traditional holiday stuffing combines crusty rustic bread, fragrant herbs, and a medley of vegetables for a savory side dish that's perfect for Thanksgiving feasts.
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped celery and onions, and sauté until softened, about 10 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the dried bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, chicken broth, herbs, salt, and pepper.
Fold in the beaten eggs until the mixture is evenly combined.
Transfer the mixture to a large greased baking dish and spread it out evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45-60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the stuffing is set.
Allow the stuffing to rest for at least 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
This stuffing can be prepared a day before and baked before serving for added convenience. Consider adding toasted nuts or dried cranberries for a unique twist.
