Dry Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy and smooth.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers still look soft.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra chewiness, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
