Churro Snacks

Delicious churro snacks that are perfect for any occasion. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, dusted with cinnamon sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2.5 tablespoons sugar plus more for dusting
  • 1 stick butter unsalted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 quarts oil for frying
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Preparation Steps

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine water, sugar, butter, and salt.
  • Bring to a boil then reduce heat to low. Add flour and stir with a wooden spoon until thickened and no lumps remain.
  • Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
  • Heat oil in a large pot or deep electric fryer over medium heat until it reaches 375°F.
  • Pipe strips of dough over the oil and fry until golden and crispy, about 2 minutes per side.
  • Remove churros with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  • Toss warm churros in a cinnamon-sugar mixture and serve immediately.

Notes

Best served fresh. Dipping in chocolate sauce is highly recommended!
