Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, and cocoa powder.
In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one by one, beating well after each addition.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the rum.
Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 45 minutes or until a tester comes out clean.
Notes
For added flavor, serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Adjust rum quantity to taste preference.
