Chocolate Rum Cake

A rich and moist chocolate cake infused with the subtle flavor of rum.

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar Granulated
  • 0.5 cup cocoa powder Unsweetened
  • 1 cup butter Softened
  • 0.5 cup dark rum Good quality
  • 4 units eggs Large

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, and cocoa powder.
  • In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one by one, beating well after each addition.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the rum.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 45 minutes or until a tester comes out clean.

Notes

For added flavor, serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Adjust rum quantity to taste preference.
