Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add vanilla, then gradually add flour and mix well.
Press two-thirds of dough into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan.
Spread cherry pie filling over the dough.
Crumble the remaining dough over the cherry layer.
Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
Let the cherry bars cool completely before cutting into squares.
