Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13 inch casserole dish.
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, sauté until onions are translucent.
Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually add 4 cups of whole milk, whisking until smooth and thickened.
Lower the heat and add cream cheese, stirring until well-combined. Remove from heat and add cheddar cheese, stirring until melted.
In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked rice, chicken, broccoli, and cheese sauce. Mix until everything is well coated.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared casserole dish. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is bubbling and golden brown. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
