Caramel Apple Cake Cups

A delicious combination of caramel and apples baked into cute, individual-sized cake cups perfect for any gathering.

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1.5 cups chopped apples peeled and cored
  • 0.5 cup caramel sauce plus extra for drizzling

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a muffin pan or line with cupcake liners.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in chopped apples and caramel sauce.
  • Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool slightly before drizzling with additional caramel sauce. Serve warm or at room temperature.
