Preparation Steps

• Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
• In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, softened butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Stir until a thick dough forms.
• Fold in chocolate chips if using.
• Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
• Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden but centers still look soft.
• Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
