Cake Mix Cookie Bars

Soft, chewy cookie bars made with cake mix for a quick and easy dessert that's perfect for busy weeknights or last-minute treats.

  • 1 box yellow or white cake mix
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips
  • 0.25 cup chopped nuts optional

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, egg, and milk. Stir until a thick dough forms.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
  • Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

These cookie bars are best served at room temperature. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
