Cabbage Rolls Recipe

A classic comfort food recipe for delicious cabbage rolls filled with seasoned ground meat and rice.

  • 1 large head of cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 0.5 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 cup tomato sauce

Instructions
 

Preparation Steps

  • Remove the core from the cabbage and separate the leaves.
  • In a bowl, combine ground beef, rice, onion, salt, and pepper.
  • Place a spoonful of the meat mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll up.
  • Place the cabbage rolls in a large pot, add diced tomatoes and tomato sauce, and simmer for about 1.5 hours.

Notes

Serve hot with a dollop of sour cream or yogurt.
