Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your broiler to high.
  • Rinse the scallops under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  • In a large bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, black pepper, and lemon zest.
  • Add scallops to the bowl and toss until they are thoroughly coated.
  • Arrange scallops on a broiling pan and sprinkle with salt.
  • Broil for 10 minutes, or until scallops turn opaque and lightly golden.
  • Serve immediately with a lemon wedge.

Notes

For best results, ensure that the scallops are as dry as possible before seasoning and broiling to achieve a nice sear.
