BREAD WITH LEMON GLAZE

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup milk whole milk preferred
  • 0.5 cup butter melted
  • 2 tablespoons lemon zest freshly grated
  • 0.25 cup lemon juice freshly squeezed

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and baking powder.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the milk, butter, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
  • Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For an extra lemony flavor, add more lemon zest to the glaze.
