  • 1 large onion, chopped yellow or white
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans tomato sauce 15 oz each
  • 1 can kidney beans 15 oz, drained
  • 1 can pinto beans 15 oz, drained
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper or to taste

Preparation Steps

  • In a large pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until onion is translucent.
  • Stir in tomato sauce, kidney beans, pinto beans, chili powder, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Notes

For a spicier kick, consider adding a chopped jalapeño or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
