Beef Liver and Onions

This classic beef liver recipe features tender liver and sweet onions cooked to perfection.

  • 1 lb beef liver sliced
  • 2 large onions sliced into rings
  • 1 cup flour for coating
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper freshly ground

Preparation Steps

  • Coat the liver slices in flour and set aside.
  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add onions to the skillet and cook until soft and translucent.
  • Remove onions and set aside. Increase heat and add liver to the skillet.
  • Cook liver for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until browned.
  • Return onions to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and serve warm.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes or over a bed of rice for a complete meal.
