Preparation Steps
Whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract in a shallow dish.
Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated.
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Cook the French toast until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
In a separate pan, sauté bananas with brown sugar until softened. Add rum (optional) and cook for another minute.
Top the French toast with the Bananas Foster mixture and serve immediately.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use a combination of brown and white sugar. Feel free to add a sprinkle of cinnamon to the French toast batter.
