Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the mashed bananas, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt to the banana mixture. Stir until well combined.
Gently fold in the flour until just incorporated, being careful not to overmix. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (but no wet batter).
Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before slicing into squares.
