Amish Pot Roast

A classic Amish Pot Roast recipe, slow-cooked to perfection for tender and flavorful results.

  • 3 lbs Chuck Roast
  • 1 large Onion chopped
  • 2 cups Beef Broth
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Dried Thyme

Preparation Steps

  • Season the chuck roast generously with salt, pepper, and thyme.
  • Place the onion in the bottom of a large pot or Dutch oven.
  • Place the seasoned chuck roast on top of the onion.
  • Pour the beef broth into the pot.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 3 hours, or until the roast is fork-tender.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes or your favorite side dishes.
