  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour sifted for best texture
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1.5 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water should not exceed 110°F
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil extra virgin preferred
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese substitute with cheddar if preferred
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted

Preparation Steps

  • In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, and sugar. Mix well.
  • Add salt and warm water to the mixture. Stir with a wooden spoon until dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 8 minutes, adding olive oil gradually.
  • Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Roll out dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  • Spread melted butter over the rolled dough. Sprinkle mozzarella, minced garlic, and parsley evenly on top.
  • Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 equal pieces. Place rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 25 minutes or until rolls are golden brown. Serve warm.

Notes

For an extra garlic kick, brush the tops of the rolls with additional melted butter mixed with garlic powder before baking.
