Ingredients

  • 0.75 lb ground beef

  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Directions

  1. Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 3–4 minutes. Add the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk, stirring until smooth.
  3. Layer the Casserole: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom. Spread half of the cooked ground beef over the potatoes, then pour half of the soup mixture on top. Sprinkle with half of the shredded cheese. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, beef, soup mixture, and cheese.
  4. Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  5. Serve: Let the casserole cool slightly, then garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
